Is it your agenda or God's agenda?

The answer isn't as simple as it seems.  One would think that the Christian is all about God's agenda.  I've worked in social services as one of my 17 vocations.  While in that position I was tasked with putting a medical insurance program in place for a young woman who's sole purpose of applying was so that she could get an abortion.  Even though it's legal and the process funded by money from taxpayers, it's still wrong to God and still wrong to me.  This is an example of the world's agenda driving our lives.  I believe in the sanctity of life.  The young woman didn't pick up the document she needed for the abortion.  However, I felt the wrath of my employer for not getting it done sooner so she could have had the abortion.  I didn't do anything wrong and had prayed for the young woman.  It transitioned into one of God's agenda's.  Everything in life isn't so clear cut as the killing of a young life.  Sometimes there are simply small things that lead to bigger things before we are so deep in the world's agenda that we don't seem to remember God's agenda.  Nineteen years ago I had an affair that resulted in the woman getting pregnant with our baby.  Dilemma!  I had just broken off the relationship and then this!   My agenda just was trumped by God's agenda.  The woman wanted to have an abortion and told me so.  I played the situation so that she wouldn't abort the baby.  After the pregnancy was past the first trimester I confessed my sin and broke off the relationship.  Today there is a beautiful 19 year old woman who is God's agenda.
No one is immune to the agenda of the world.  The Christian is no exception.  Though the Bible tells us that we won't be tempted without a way our; sometimes we don't see the way out.  By living in the world's agenda the Christian over time becomes desensitized to God's agenda.  Lukewarm at best, we please no one but the enemy.  Everyone, Christian or not, is an object of desire from Satan who strives to steal souls for himself.  Those who aren't saved, those who are questioning, and those who have weak faith all are included.  Okay, Satan attacks the faithful as well.  No one escapes the pull of the world.  What needs to be done?  For beginners, go back to the beginning.  For the Christian this means going back to your first love...Jesus.  Secondly, get back into the Word and stand firm.  Third, seek others who seek God's love and agenda first and foremost in their lives.  Fourth, begin and end each day with prayer and surrender.  Make that all day.  Paul tells us to pray without ceasing.  Having the attitude of that state of communing with God all day will help us to stay the course, fight the good fight and claim the prize of eternal life in Heaven.
You may want to take an inventory of your life.  List the activities you engage in.  All of them.  When you take an honest look at your live, you will be able to tell which agenda you spend the most time in.  After taking an inventory of your life and determining which are God's agenda and which are the world's agenda.  If you can't decide, as God and he will show you.  Read the Word and make a study of God's agenda.  Talk with other Christians and have fellowship with them.  We are all in the same struggle.  Commit yourself to God's direction and stay committed regardless of the cost. Allow the Holy Spirit access to all the rooms of your life.  When convicted that you are outside of the will of God, confess and repent.  There is a difference.  Confession is telling God that you know what you have done. Repentance is telling God that you give up that area of your life.  So, is it your agenda or God's agenda?  It's always your choice.
